Problems that may occur when using some display cards ================================================ Some display cards may cause operations to be unstable when the TWAIN driver is started from Photoshop 5.0 LE. If this happens, run the dispinit.exe fix program and then start Photoshop to use the TWAIN driver. We recommend that you register dispinit.exe as a Windows startup program since it must be run after each system startup. The dispinit.exe program is located in the same folder as the installer (setup.exe). On the CD, it is stored in the [SOFTWARE / TWAIN / camera model name / language] folder. 2. RAW images and video images ================================== RAW images and video images are not displayed in the Thumbnails list using this TWAIN driver. Be sure to check the contents of your memory card before formatting it. 3. Applications and system configurations =========================================== Canon has tested this driver with as many TWAIN-compatible applications and system configurations as possible. The following compatibility problems have been found. [Transferring images to Photoshop 5.0 LE] The maximum number of images that can be transferred to Photoshop 5.0 LE at one time is 30. 4. Communication between the Canon Camera TWAIN driver and a Canon camera ============================================================= (1) When connected to a camera with the TWAIN driver running, the driver regularly communicates with the camera. Do not use the camera controls, remove the memory card or battery, or unplug the communications cable while the driver and the camera are in communication. These actions may cause misoperation on some PCs. Exit the TWAIN driver before performing these actions. (2) Do not put your computer in Standby mode while a Canon camera is connected to the USB or IEEE1394 port. If you accidentally put your computer in Standby mode while a Canon camera is connected to the USB or IEEE1394 port, leave the camera connected to the computer and bring the computer out of Standby mode. Unplugging the cable from the computer while in Standby mode may cause some computers to fail to come out of Standby mode correctly. See the user manual for your computer for more information about Standby mode. 5. About Windows 98SE ============================= (1) For more stable operations, we recommend that users connecting a camera with an IEEE1394 interface to a computer running Windows 98SE download and install the following update program from the Microsoft web site. "Windows 98 Second Edition 1394 Storage Supplement" (2) If you connect a camera to a computer running Windows 98SE, set the Auto Power Off setting to [Off]. 6. Connecting to an EOS digital camera ================================== You cannot communicate with a camera when the camerafs LCD monitor is on. If the LCD monitor is on, turn it off by pressing the shutter button halfway, and then connect the camera.
